The Tata Nano is a city car manufactured by Tata Motors. Made and sold in India, the Nano was initially launched with a price tag of 100,000 (US$1,600) which was ultimately increased with time. Designed to lure India’s burgeoning middle classes away from two-wheelers, it received much publicity. Now they are Facelifting their models like “swipes in the tablets”. Plan is now for a new generation X Car for the nano Segment and Tata Nano GenX Started bookings Procedures are also started.
Tata Nano GenX
Tata motor car company is ready with its GenX Nano car. When it launches in the market, the GenX Nano will be made available in four trims – XE, XM, XT and XTA (AMT). Headlining the changes are the addition of an openable tailgate and the option of an AMT gearbox.
Dealers in the country have started accepting bookings for the GenX Nano at a nominal amount of Rs 5,000 only. Some dealers have said that the GenX Nano will be rolled into showrooms for display on May 1, so it’s possible that the launch will follow soon after that. Other information from dealers of Tata indicate that although deliveries will commence immediately after the launch and the manual GenX Nano will have no waiting period, the AMT version is likely to have a little bit of a waiting period.
The customers of Nano have shown the favorable interest the GenX Nano Easy Shift (AMT). Dealers say majority of inquiries are regarding the AMT model. The GenX Nano with the AMT gearbox gets a Sports mode that allows for a bit of zippy driving, and there’s also a Creep function that allows for crawling without any throttle input. The boot space in the AMT-equipped model is 94 liters, while the petrol manual has 110 liters of boot space.
Other changes on the GenX Nano include a bigger fuel tank, new-look steering wheel, and an audio system with four speakers, Bluetooth, aux-in and USB. Tata is expected to price the GenX Nano in the range of Rs 2.80 – 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
