Benelli launching its India Range of Bikes March 19 – Report

Benelli was founded in Pesaro, Italy in 1911, which possibly makes it the oldest of all European motorcycle factories in running now days. As World War II loomed, the Benelli company debuted their four-cylinder supercharged 250cc racing bike. This was intended to compete in the 1940 season, building on Benelli’s success in the 1939 Isle of Man TT Lightweight 250 cc race. With the start of the war, the Benelli Four was limited to competition in a handful of Italian domestic races. Established in 1911, Benelli is one of the oldest Italian motorcycle developers. It once manufactured shotguns, although this part of the business is now a separate company. Now Benelli is trying to hit the Indian Automotive market with the launch of their bikes to the Indian cities. Following are the details regarding the India range of Benelli bikes.

Benelli has just announced its five strong bikes for India line-up at the India Bike Week 2015, currently underway in Goa. At the announcement, the bike developers has also announced that they will launch the bikes in India on March 19, with bookings starting a few days prior to the launch, on March 10. Now we can see that foregn Investors are thinking of making the Indian as their new bike market to explode and in future its very hopeful that Indian economy is going to be the top one economy on the earth for the automobile products.

Benelli will launch the TNT 300, TNT 600i, TNT 600GT, TNT 899 and TNT 1130. DSK Benelli also revealed that they are working on making three more bikes to India – theTNT25 Blackster and the TREK 1130 Amazonas. The three new motorcycles will be launched in India, sometime this year. Aesthetically, the TNT25 is similar to the TNT 300, but is powered by a single cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. USD suspension is seen upfront and a mono-shock does duty at rear.  A single disc brake is provided for stopping power in the front and back. The Blackster has a matt black paint scheme, and chrome twin pipes flowing backward.

Then there are two high-voltage three-pot motors that displace 898cc and 1131cc in the TNT 899 and TNT 1130, respectively. With their radical and edgy styling, these two motorcycles promise to be attention magnets the moment they step out in the open. With power figures standing at 120bhp and 158bhp, these could give their competitors sleepless nights when they are launched at an expected price of Rs 8.5 lakh for the 899 and Rs 13 lakh for the 1130.

The normal engine bikes are powered by a 250cc, V- twin, air-cooled engine which is a great engine for the semi sports bike. Telescopic suspension is provided upfront side and dual shocks are provided at rear sides for best riding experience. There are disc brakes given at both ends for stopping power of bikes. The TREK 1130 Amazonas seen here in yellow and black is semi-fairer. It is powered by a three-cylinder engine that is liquid-cooled. USD suspension is seen up front with a mono-shock doing duty at rear. Upmarket, Excel Takasago wheels are provided at both ends, with Metzeller, on-off road enabled tyres.

As for now, the only thing we can do is to wait for the Benelli bikes to make it to the our showrooms with price tags that show competitors how things are done. Till then, onl fingers crossed.
