This vehicle has been equipped with all the standard comfort features like a proficient air conditioning system with heater, speed sensitive electric power steering, all four power windows and central locking system. A royal finishing touch is bought in the car with finely upholstered seats. The new sporty steering wheel feels the driver to be in a speedy racetrack and looks extremely premium with its 3-spoke multifunction. The Center console with Bluetooth and voice command functions are changes that have come in New Polo. The silver inserts through out interior part gives it a fresh look. Volkswagen has also worked on the insides of the car, which now look really attractive and are sure to be a huge draw, however, it’s not clear how many of these changes will make it to the Indian market. In terms of exteriors, this latest model received major updates all over with a brand new radiator grille, a set of stylish alloy wheels along with a newly designed bumper and a redesigned headlight cluster. The taillight cluster and the rear bumper too have been revamped that gives it a refreshing new look. The company also made changes to the interiors by refurbishing the dashboard, central console and seats. The design of the instrument panel is same as the outgoing trim, but the information display between tachometer and speedometer gets a new color scheme and a few more functions as well. A new stylish front grille and dual beam headlamps in black finish with cornering lights for additional safety gives a striking view to the customers. Curved body colored door handles seamlessly flows into the overall design. The rear tail lamps are also redesigned to give a stunning visual and the logo also makes up its style. Trunk opener for the New Polo is a shiny Volkswagen’s logo. To maintain shade and cool, a het-insulated glass is equipped on the side and rear windows.

It has also used a new 15 inch ‘TOSA’ alloy wheel to highlight its sporty amd trendy disguise. The rear design of the Polo is sporty and very modern looking. The rear bumpers are redesigned and also feature new design reflectors. The side profile is very European with strong and taut shoulder lines running from across the front to the rear. The Polo Bluemotion comes with a styling pack which includes uniquely shaped front and rear bumpers, radiator grille, side skirts and rear roof spoiler, body colored door handles, body colored door mirrors with integrated indicators, front fog lights and static cornering function and unique BlueMotion badging. VW has upgraded the headlamps, grille, fog lamps and front bumper. The profile is the same as before and the rear gets new bumper and tail lamps.

The New Polo comes with foglights which is an updated. The front design of the Polo is futuristic and very European. The headlamps come in a nice black finish, and there is a chrome strip on the front grille and on the air dam. The front fog lamps have also been redesigned. The headlights now get hexagonal LED elements, a chrome strip at the bottom of the grille links both headlights, and the chin of the car is all-new. What’s particularly nice is the fact that the wider wraparound section now also gets a metallic highlight that runs around the bottom of the fogs. There are fewer changes around the rear, but the car does get an all-new bumper and tail-lights.

The steering, in fact, looks very similar to that of the Volkswagen Golf. The proficient power steering wheel now gets a flat-bottomed design, which further gives an asserting look to the cabin. Volkswagen is expected to launch the facelifted car in India around May 2014, and the range of engines are likely to remain unchanged. The 1.2 TSI, with the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, will be the flagship of the range and the 1.6 TDi will be the most powerful diesel. The three-cylinder petrol and diesel motors will continue to be entry level motors. To maintain shade and cool, a het-insulated glass is equipped on the side and rear windows. The New Polo will be available with 1.2-liter MPI petrol engine and 1.5-liter diesel engine which would churn out 75 bhp, 110 Nm torque for 1.2L MPI and 90 bhp, 230 Nm for 1.5L TDI. The ne face will be seen on Polo GT TSI, GT TDI and Cross Polo. Both GT TSI and GT TDI will deliver 104 bhp.

It employs a 5-speed manual transmission. The Polo now comes with a 1.2 litre petrol motor and 1.5 liter diesel. The 1.2 liter petrol motor pumps 75 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque. It promises a fuel economy of 16.47 km/l. The 1.5 liter diesel engine is a brand new motor developed by VW. However, VW’s new 1.5 diesel engine, which the company has been working on for a considerable time now, is unlikely to make it in time for the launch of this facelift. The new engine will only go into production around the end of the year. The motor is designed in such a way to work smoothly and produce low-speed torque. Mileage for Volkswagen New Polo diesel version is 20.14 kmpl and for petrol version is 16.47 kmpl. It has a peak power output of 90 PS and torque of 230 Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and ARAI tested mileage is at 20.14 km/l.
