The Bajaj Pulsar is a motorcycle brand owned by Bajaj Auto in India. The two wheeler was manufactured by the product engineering section of Bajaj Auto in association with Tokyo R&D, and later with motorcycle designer Glynn Kerr. Now days there are five variants available, with engine capacities of 135 cc, 150 cc, 180 cc, 200 cc, and 220 cc. Previously it was also offered with a 200 cc DTS-i oil cooled engine, which now has been discontinued. Instead a new version Pulsar 200NS was launched in 2012. With an average monthly sales of around 86,000 units in 2011, Pulsar claimed a 2011 market share of 47% in its segment. By April 2012, more than five million units of Pulsar were sold. Bajaj has also purchased a large number of shares in Austrian company, KTM Power Sports AG, thus started a joint venture in November 2007. Bajaj Auto Limited has surprised everyone by unveiling the new sports bike Pulsar SS400 on February 5, 2014 and the company is planning to roll out this year “2015” the all new Pulsar 400 SS. This fully loaded motorcycle made its debut at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo show. Expected to go on sale alongside the Pulsar 200 SS, the Pulsar 400 SS is based on an all-new chassis. Powering this bike will be a 375cc liquid cooled fuel-injected engine which generates 41bhp of power. The similar engine also powers the KTM Duke 390. The bike was on display at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. The Pulsar 400 SS is expected to be available in the market by the end of 2015 as we discuss above . The bike is a perfect blend of sportiness, style, aggression technology, performance and speed that has attracted everyone’s interest due to its stunning design and a powerful 373 cc engine from KTM 390 Duke which may get a little tweaked for better figures. Bajaj Pulsar SS400 is a fully loaded featured sports bike with an rude, sporty and stylish design which includes twin projector head lamps, black rear view mirrors, a faux air intake ahead of its big and well sculpted tank, raised clip on handlebars, a sporty riding position, self-start, stylish alloy wheels, rear grab rail, a stylish exhaust, small turn indicators, split LED tail lights at its rear mudguard and a rough frame. The Pulsar SS400 will be available in four exciting color combinations of Red, Yellow, Blue and Black. The company has also added disc brakes at both the wheels that takes the responsiveness of the brakes to the superior level. The superior mono-suspension creates mass centralization and leads to comfortable and stable running. The wide tubeless tyres ascends the grasp of the bike and helps the rider to perform sharp turns with confidence. The low seat height enhances the rider’s comfort and convenience in handling and controlling the machine.
Bajaj Pulsar SS400 has have the 373 cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled engine with Bajaj’s triple spark technology to give an expected maximum power of 44 BHP at 9500 rpm and an expected maximum torque of 35 NM at 7250 rpm and is comes with a 6-speed transmission gears “one down five up”. This bike has the top speed of 150 km/h and within 7-8 seconds it reach to 0-100km. It will also come with ABS technology in it.
